What Are You Hungry For?
Mondays 3-4 pm

Monday evenings from 6:30-8
Come join Elisabeth Bailey for our writing practice group. Writers at every level of experience, from brand new on up, are warmly welcome. During this time we write from prompts and share our pieces with each other. Optional homework will be assigned between sessions. We will have an all-day writing retreat on Sunday, February 21st from 10 am to 3:30 pm. This day will be an opportunity for intensive writing and editing, with breaks for food and chats! All women and girls with an interest in writing are welcome to join the retreat whether they participate in our regular sessions or not.
Stitch n Bitch with Carol Ann Demone
Fridays from 10 am to noon
A drop-in group for anyone who wants to explore fabric arts (sewing, knitting, needle felting, etc.) with some good coffee and conversation! Bring the kids—we have lots of toys and books to keep little ones occupied. Bring your own project or learn how to knit with Carol. Please call Second Story at 902.640.3044 before Friday if you would like to reserve a sewing machine or serger for use.
Good Vibrations: A Drumming Circle for Women of All Ages
Saturdays from 2-3 pm
Drumming is proven to help reduce stress and anxiety, increase energy levels and mobility, form friendships, and provide a lot of fun! Beginners warmly welcome.
Creativity Circle Drop In
The last Thursday of every month from 3-4:30 pm
Drop in to the “studio” at SSWC to paint, collage, sculpt, or find your passion! Bring a project you have been working on or just show up and we will have some options ready. This is a relaxing time to play and discover, share conversation and meet new friends.
No experience or supplies needed to just drop in. If you are working on a specific project, bring the supplies you need and you are welcome to use centre materials as well.
Back to Me: A group of women supporting women with life’s challenges
We all struggle with life’s challenges and when we know we are not alone, the load can feel lighter. This facilitated group is open to any woman in need of support with issues common to women. The group will meet at the Family Support Centre in Bridgewater.
Join us for a meal and friendship on the 4th Tuesday of each month. Everyone of every age and gender is warmly welcome! Food is provided free of charge; contributions are welcome. If you would like to make a soup or casserole, please call Elisabeth at (902) 640-3044 and let her know. Next lunch: February 23rd.
In this free program using pantry staples and basic fresh ingredients, you can join in to help chop, mix, stir and cook and then we’ll enjoy the meal we created together. There will also be take away containers, so you can share the finished product with loved ones at home or pop it in the freezer for another day. No registration required—just stop by the Central United Church Hall on Lincoln Street in Lunenburg.
Next Program Tuesday February 16th, 9-11 am
Facilitators: Cherene Naugler & Marilyn Zinowki
We would like to acknowledge and thank the Lunenburg County Community Health Board for providing the funds to purchase food and supplies for this program to ensure there is no cost to the participants.
The group meets at Second Story Women’s Centre every Tuesday (weather permitting) at 1 pm for a one-hour walk. Join the Stepping Out group for a friendly and supportive walk about Lunenburg. Facilitated by Marilyn & Linda Zinowki.
